Meeting Called to disorder at 7:174pm

In attendance: Lyn Andre, Dawn and Scott Begin, Paul Braun, Tina Farmer, Marcus Hendricks, Bill Mezger, Melinda Rubbens and Bethany Zurawicz.

1. Reading of the minutes from last meeting was waived and approved by those in attendance.

2. Old Business
A. Great America Wrap-up:
Thanks to everyone who attended the PAC Rats outing to Great America on Sunday, June 24. These people included: Paul Braun, Tina Farmer, Jackie Gutowski, and Friend, Marcus Hendricks, Shannon Lisewski and Friend, Dean Scalzitti, Robert Sterling and Friend, Heather Young and Friend. Also attending were Chuck and Diane Kaffka and family (although the two groups did not see each other all day!). Thanks again to Diane Kaffka for providing discounted tickets for this event. It was a pleasant day, and everyone had a good time.

B. 4th of July Parade Wrap-up: Thanks to everyone who attended the Dolton 4th of July parade on Wednesday, July 4. These people included: Paul Braun, Tina Farmer, Marcus Hendricks, Min Rubbens, Joey Tassin, Barry Zurawicz and Bethany Zurawicz. The day was warm but tolerable, and the parade went well (although we refrained from soaking Frank Z. with our water guns). We had just enough flyers (2400) and bubbles left over from the Memorial Day parade. The cookout afterwards at Clan Zurawicz went well, even without the pool.

3. New Business
A. Summer Kiddie Show:
Ellie Shunko will be directing Michelle Vacca's adaptation of The Emperor's New Clothes this summer. Auditions were held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 30 and 31. Around 27 people auditioned, giving Ellie a tough task in choosing whom to cast for the show. To see photos from the auditions, visit the Emperor's New Clothes Auditions web page. Show dates will be Saturdays, August 18 and 25 at 11am and 2pm, and Sundays, August 19 and 26 at 3pm in the gazebo. Help will be needed for set construction, lighting, and concessions. More on this at the next PAC Rats meeting.

B. Play Outing in Chicago: Plans are in the works to see the Free Associates production of Alfred Hitchcock Resents, a spoof of Hitchcock's movies done in improv style at the Royal George Theater on 1641 N. Halsted St. Tickets are $17.50 each. We are looking at going on either Friday night, July 20 for a 7:30 show time, or Sunday, July 22 for a 3pm show time. We will decide this at tonight's meeting.

C. Renaissance Faire: The PAC Rats annual pilgrimage to the Bristol Renaissance Faire is set for Sunday, August 5. Most of us will be leaving from the Clan Zurawicz household at 8:30am that morning. If it is out of your way to travel to South Holland, we will meet together at approximately 10:30am just inside the Faire entrance by the message board. Tickets can be purchased in advance for approximately $14 at participating Cub Foods stores (Tinley Park, Chicago Heights). Dressing in costume is optional, but highly recommended.

D. Fall Show: The PAC Rats will be performing three stories for Radio Theatre based on stories by Rudyard Kipling (The Mark of the Beast), Edgar Allen Poe (The Cask of Amontillado), and Mark Twain (The Canterville Ghost) on October 26, 27 and 31. Barry Zurawicz will be directing. Accents (especially British) would be helpful. Auditions will be held shortly after close of Summer Kiddie Show. More on this at next PAC Rats meeting.

E. Death of a PAC Rat: Kim "The Kimbo" Lewis died in her sleep on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at the young age of 38. Many of Kim's family and friends (including many PAC Rats) came out to pay their respects. Our sympathy goes out to her husband Jim and his family.

4. Other Business
A. See other plays in Fall
(Drama Group, ITC, Free Associates, Chicago Shakespeare Company?) B. Memorial Day parade in Calumet City?

5. Meeting was adjourned at 7:36 pm.

Minutes were taken by Paul and (finally) put up on the web by Ellie.
