Meeting Called to disorder at 7:10pm

In attendance: Lyn Andre, Dawn and Scott Begin, Paul Braun, Amanda Cockrell, Matt Drwiega and Jeannie, Tina Farmer, Marcus Hendricks, Sarah McDuffie, Jon Piette, Joanna Tassin.

Those who belatedly disgraced us with their presence: Chuck and Diane Kaffka, Shannon Lisewski, Siobhan Maguire, Pat McHugh, Ellie Shunko, Bethany and Jennifer Zurawicz.

Minutes from last meeting were read by Tina Farmer and later approved by those present.

Old Business:

Outing to Great America:Mention was made of PAC Rats trip to Great America on Sunday, June 20 (Father's Day). A fun time was had by all.

Outing to an evening of one-act plays: Mention was made of PAC Rats trip to the Wing and Groove Theatre in Chicago to see Wits' End. Except for no air conditioning in theatre, the evening was deemed a success. Some of the one-acts might even be suitable for performance in the PAC at a future date.

4th of July Parade: Disparaging remarks were made by those who attended the alleged parade in Hazel Crest the afternoon of the 4th. The parade lasted all of 15 minutes (maximum), with very few opportunities to pass out PAC Rats flyers during the parade. Serious thought needs to be given to continued participation in parades. It was agreed upon to choose a better site than Hazel Crest for future parades.

New Business:

Summer performances for Guerrilla Theatre: Speech instructor Sandy Kamp has been kind enough to let us perform for her summer speech class on Monday, July 19, sometime between 9am to 12 noon. Exact times and other information will be disseminated sometime before the 19th.

Princess and The Pea: Posters for P and P will be available for distribution sometime during the week of July 19. Dates and times for set construction will be announced at a later date. Sunday show performances will be held in the Gazebo (weather permitting) or in the cafeteria as a last resort.

Auditions for fall season: Auditions for The Haunting and Murder is a Game are set for Tuesday through Thursday, July 13, 14, and 15 at 7pm beginning in the PAC Lobby.

Haunted Updates:

Videotaping rights to The Haunting are still being sought. First production meeting was July 7. Crew for sound effects will be cast after auditions. The following is the production staff for The Haunting: Director: Chuck Kaffka; Assistant Director: Lyn Andre; Lighting Design: Jon Jenkins; Light Operator: Duckie Drechny; Sound/Music Operator: Bethany Zurawicz; Foley Artists: Barry, Megan and Jennifer Zurawicz.

Murderous Updates: A second show and dinner theatre has been added for the Saturday shows. Show times are now 3pm and 8pm, with dinner between shows.

Renaissance Faire: Plans are set to attend the Bristol Renaissance Faire just across the line in Wisconsin on Sunday, July 25. We will carpool from Clan Zurawicz's house at 8:30am. Dressing in period costume is highly recommended, or bring lots of money to purchase a costume at the Faire. We will not tailgate/picnic at the Faire this year due to the Gestapo security force prowling the parking areas.Renaissance Faire

Aside from the webmistress: Post-meeting, Chuck mentioned to Ellie that she should get out in the sun and come to the Renaissance Faire. Clearly Charles was having a delusional moment if he thought Ellie would spend more than 5 minutes in the sun. ;-)

Drama Group Outing: Chuck Kaffka will be lighting the stage of the Drama Group Studio Building in a production of Spoon River Anthology. Also, the lovely and charming Melody Geraci is cast as a dancer, a dead chick and a violinist. A field trip has been scheduled for Sunday, August 8. Show time is 2pm and tickets are $9-$10.

Other Radio Play Diane Kaffka suggested seeing a production of a radio play of undetermined title at the Tinley Park Library on Thursday, July 22. For more information, please call the Tinley Park Library at (708) 532-0160.

Second outing to Great America: If there is enough interest, a second outing to Great America would occur in September to accommodate those who could not attend the first outing on Father's Day. More on this at the next meeting.

Other Business / Miscellaneous Bru ha-ha:

We have a new Associate Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences who is in charge of the theatre, art and music areas. His name is Dr. Patrick Schmitt. Ellie gives him a thumbs up!

Ellie will now report solely to Academia Land. This is good news. There should be much rejoicing in the land.

In March, the PAC Rats will be sponsoring Dave Rudolph, a local area performer for kids, to perform in the PAC. Because of this, we will need to sell lots of tickets for The Haunting and Murder is a Game to pay for him. (We will make the money back, but we need the cash up front.)

Next summer, Ellie is thinking about putting on a musical show instead of a kiddie show. Our new choral director, Albert Jackson, is game to play along with us. More on this at a future meeting.

Dawn Begin motioned and Chuck Kaffka seconded an outing to see Steven Spielberg's movie version of The Haunting. More on this at the next PAC Rats meeting.

The next PAC Rats meeting is set for Thursday, August 5, 1999 at 7pm in the PAC lobby. Possible set construction for Princess and The Pea after meeting.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
Minutes were taken by Joey Tassin and transcribed by Paul Braun. Additional snide comments added by Ellie.
