WSSC Presents Halloween Trilogy

The Halloween Trilogy is a radio drama of three different stories. Mark of the Beast by Rudyard Kipling, The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde, and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe. These stories were adapted for radio by Cecelia Fannon and John de Lancie ("Q" from Star Trek Next Generation).

Mark of the Beast by Rudyard Kipling is about what happens when three English soldiers and their western arrogance clash with the mystic ways of India. These soldiers become victims of the offended Monkey God. Nothing in their western upbringing can save them from a night of terror.

The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde is a heart warming ghost story about a tired three hundred year old ghost seeking redemption for a terrible sin and the innocent girl who befriends him. The girl offers to give him the peace he seeks but at a terrible cost.

The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe is the famous Poe story about ruination and vengeance. A man driven mad by hate (Montresor) seeks revenge on the man (Fortunato) who wronged him and his family. This vengeance leads Montresor to commit murder most foul.

This play will be presented as radio drama. This "theatre of the mind" challenges the actors to create all the world in the mind of the audience using just their voices and sound effects. All of the sound effects used during the play will be created "live" without aid of pre-recorded sound.
